Pills

Carly sat back and closed her eyes.
"I can do this. I don't need the pills."
Carly opened her eyes when she heard a thump. She looked at her desk where she saw a penguin dancing.
"I must be going crazy."
Carly closed her eyes and counted to ten. She heard more thumping but ignored it until she reached ten. She opened her eyes and still saw the penguin dancing.
"What the hell is going on here?"
"Hi Carly do you want pancakes?"
Now that Carly thought about it she couldn't remember the last time she ate.
"You know what that sounds good. I don't suppose you're going to make me some."
"Of course not Carly I'm the dancing penguin not the cook."
Someone knocked on the door. Carly had no idea who it could be. The penguin was still dancing on her desk and her head was pounding from all the thumping.
"Could you please stop that."
"Okay but first you have to give me a tip."
"A tip?"
"Yeah you know some cash. It isn't easy living in such a warm place. I'm hoping to get myself on a plane to Alaska. I don't know how you people live here and with summer just around the corner I really need to go."
"Okay I'll buy you a plane ticket if you'll just stop dancing."
"No problem Carly. Did you want me to get that?"
Carly didn't know what the penguin was talking about until she heard the knocking.
"Come in."
The door opened and in walked Daniel dressed like a pancake.
"Daniel what are you doing?"
"I'm bringing you pancakes. Didn't you tell the penguin that you wanted some?"
"Yes but why are you dressed like one?"
"That's a silly question Carly. The real question is why you aren't wearing a Sombrero."
Daniel pulled a Sombrero out of the air and put it on Carly's head.
"You can eat pancakes without one."
Carly didn't know what was going on. She decided she must be hallucinating so she did the one thing that she was sure would bring her back to reality. She clicked her heels three times while she had her eyes closed. She opened them again and found a giant penguin staring at her.
"Um what are you doing here?"
"Don't you recognize me? You were going to help get me back home."
Carly reached into her pocket for the bottle of pills. She pulled them out and threw the bottle across the room. She closed her eyes again in the hopes that everything would be back to normal when she opened them again. Instead she saw the penguin picking up the pills.
"I have to get out of here."
Carly left even thought the penguin tried to stop her.
"No more pills. I don't need them."
