Episode 1: Secretive
Sally McKnight was waiting for her fellow band mates to show up. They were scheduled to start cutting an album in the morning so she wanted to mention using Daphne on Trap Of Love, She was about to call Daphne to see if she'd be up for traveling to Oakhaven when the phone rang.
"Hello."
"Hey girl I'm going to be a little late. Dad wants me to drop off Mr Percy's choppers."
Kim Moss's dad was a dentist who provided fangs for the girls in the band.
"Oh Dusk threatened to quit the band again."
Sally just rolled her eyes. This was nothing new since Dusk threatened to quit at least once a month. Sally and Kim who were friends from kindergarten met Dusk in college. They didn't even know her real name. She was really secretive about her family. All three of the girls had stage names but Dusk refused to reveal her name.
"Kim do you think we'll ever find out Dusk's real name?"
"Maybe we could fingerprint her and have that guy Ted run them. Isn't he a cop now?"
Sally had to think for a minute.
"Oh are you talking about that guy who was stalking me in school?"
"Yeah."
"I guess I could ask but I hope he doesn't want to ask me out. The guy kisses like a Hoover. I thought he was going to rip my lips off that one time I went on a date with him."
Kim started laughing so Sally hung up on her. Sally called Daphne and was just starting to leave a message when Daphne picked up.
"Thorn is that you?"
"Yes. We're going to be working on the album and I wanted to know if you'd like to fly out and do guest vocals on Trap Of Love."
Daphne couldn't believe it. Thorn from Hex Girls was calling her. This was just perfect. Fred was off looking for his parents so a chance to hang out with the Hex Girls sounded absolutely wonderful.
"When should I come?"
"I'm going to ask the girls tonight about it but I'm sure they'll love to have you come. You were great when we preformed in Crystal Cove."
Daphne was getting more and more excited by the second. She felt like she was going to burst.
"Great I'll make the arrangements."
"Bye."
"Thanks Thorn."
Daphne hung up the phone and danced around a bit.
"Hey Thorn."
Dusk walked in with a pizza. Dusk always used the girls stage names. It was like the girl was telling the girls that real names were off limits especially her name.
"I just called Daphne and asked her to guest on the vocals for Trap Of Love."
"Cool."
Dusk sat down and started eating the pizza while Sally went upstairs to get something to drink. She lived in her parent's basement which had been turned into an apartment complete with a door for her to come and go as she pleased. Neither girl knew where Dusk lived. She'd always show up at Sally's or Kim's place to hang out or practice.
"Here you go."
Sally set down a bottle of Mountain Dew down in front of Dusk. She planned on taking the bottle so she could have that guy Ted run her prints so they could finally find out her real name. It was just odd how Dusk was so secretive about her name. She wondered if the girl was hiding something like maybe her father or brother was a serial killer. She knew absolutely nothing about her friend's life or whether or not she even had a brother.
"I never thought Mr Percy would shut up. He wanted to show off his new teeth and tell me all about his herniated disk."
"Have some pizza. I just told Dusk that Daphne's coming to town to do vocals on Trap Of Love."
"That's great. I really like that song."
Kim grabbed a slice of pizza and opened the bottle of Coke that Sally got for her.
"This is so exciting. I need a change. Stupid Fred can leave Crystal Cove and I can too."
