"I need to find a job."
Margarita still couldn't believe that she was hanging out with her arch nemesis from high school who had just the night before been jilted at the altar by a gay groom. It was just so very delicious.
"You're drooling Mar."
Margarita grabbed a napkin and wiped her face.
"Thanks Mar. I have an idea for a new song."
Mimi started humming. She grabbed her purse and left Central Pucker.
"Crap you have to have experience for all of these jobs."
A tiny woman with red hair stormed out of the kitchen.
"Gunner I quit. I'm sick of Felix grabbing my ass."
Ramona walked over to Gunner. She had a big smile on her face. Before she could say a word Gunner spoke up.
"You're hired but only if you can start right now."
Ramona put the apron on that the tiny terror had thrown at Gunner when she quit her job. Ramona was now working. She could do this. She walked over to a guy that had just walked in.
"What can I get you?"
Russ was shocked. He had a huge crush on Ramona when they were in high school. He had to be cool.
"I'll have a coffee and a glazed donut."
Russ cringed. His voice cracked but he didn't think Ramona noticed.
"Coming right up."
Russ was bummed that she didn't remember him.
"Still crushing on her after all these years?"
Russ jumped. He hadn't noticed his sister when he came in for a quick breakfast before going to work. He owned a flower shop around the block.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Russ's heart skipped a beat when he saw Ramona walking over to him. In that moment he only saw Ramona who was smiling at him. She tripped on a napkin that had been left on the floor. She landed in Russ's lap. The coffee was grabbed just in time by Margarita who had really good reflexes.
Russ let out a tiny giggle.
"I'm so sorry about that."
The donut had been squashed.
"I'll get you another donut."
"Stop giggling Russ. You're creeping me out."
To Be Cont.
