Episode 4: Pet
Sunny went to By The Page to buy a book and to talk to Giles.
"Hey Miss Bummers. How are you today?"
"Okay I guess. I want to get the next book."
"Finished Wonder Games already?"
"Almost."
Giles grabbed the book and rang it up.
"I sure you'll enjoy this one too."
Sunny felt herself being sucked back into the world that she tried to escape when she moved away from Long Beach and all the insanity. She thought about the box that the squirrel gave her when he gave that warning about the harvest. She had forgotten about it until it fell out of her jacket pocket. It was a sterling silver carrot on a chain. She put it on. She wondered who the squirrel was.
"Miss Bummers are you okay?"
"What? I was just wondering who the squirrel is. He gave me this necklace."
Sunny pulled the chain out of her shirt.
"Interesting. I have no idea. I don't know any of the squirrels in the neighborhood."
Sunny realized that Wanda had told her that Giles had just moved to Lundale right before she did. She just knew that the Seers were behind this stupid thing. She hated the council of Seers who thought they had the right to use her like a tool. Sunny didn't even get paid for saving the world from bunnies plotting to take over. It wasn't easy since the evil bunnies were able to fit in with the normal bunnies.
"Hi Giles. Hi Sunny."
Wanda walked in with a smile on her face. She was wearing all yellow with a smiley face t-shirt.
"How is Andy?"
"She's gone to LA to be with her sister."
Sunny thought that was a good idea. It had to be beyond bizarre to end up in your own mother's body. The thought of that happening to her made her shudder in horror. Sunny had already checked on Cornelia who was going to be released from the hospital later that day. She was going to have a small scar from the hole in her neck but other than that no permanent damage was suffered.
"I will release you master. Lucas failed but I won't."
The bunny who had been turned into a man by a witch went over to open the new pet store Claws And Paws. Every person that walked by would feel compelled to go inside.
"Ooh Sunny did you want to go to the movies? I have tickets for Twins Twi Hard."
"Is that the one with vampires and werewolves?"
"Yeah the werewolves have glitter in their fur and the vampires have fangs made out of diamonds."
Sunny decided to go even though she wasn't sure about the movie. It was time for her to start socializing and hopefully she'd meet potential friends at the movies.
"What time?"
Wanda looked at her watch.
"In an hour. We have just enough time to get a hot dog from Sticky."
Sunny thought the name sounded like a porn but she didn't say anything. She hadn't seen much of Lundale so she was hoping to get the tour from Wanda. While they were walking over to Sticky for lunch Wanda asked Bunny questions about what happened the other night.
"First you have to promise not to tell anyone."
"Who am I going to tell? Maybe Randy but he's cool."
"Did someone say my name?"
Randy walked out of the barber shop and started walking with the two girls.
"Yes Randy . Wanda was just telling me how cool you are."
Wanda's face grew red. Sunny wondered if she could get these two together. It was pretty obvious that Wanda had it bad for Randy.
"Long story short I'm a bunny slayer."
"A what now?"
Randy had heard of vampire slayers but not bunny slayers.
"Some bunnies are evil and that's where I come in but I'm retired. Well I was retired until I had to kill that bunny."
"You should have seen her Randy. It was amazing. The bunny was about to kill Cornelia."
Randy had a moment where he wondered if it would be so horrible if Cornelia did die. All of a sudden he felt this urge to go inside the new pet store so he let the girls cross the street without him.
"Hey where is Randy going?"
Sunny turned around and saw that Randy was walking into the pet store.
"I guess he wants a pet."
"I want a hot dog."
They arrived at Sticky. Bunny thought it looked a lot like that place called Hot Dog On A Stick. She never understood why people put hot dogs on sticks or why that place had such ridiculous uniforms. Wanda ordered the food while Sunny grabbed a table.
