I did manage to get this book from the library and hope to read it before I have to turn it in. The fingers are crossed that I win it or find it for really cheap somewhere. That could happen. I've had my share of moments when I'm positively insanely thrilled to find a good deal. Clearly in the picture you can see the guy traveling between two worlds. I'm all up for a good tale about parallel worlds. As a bonus I think this book is a stand alone. The only reason I'm mentioning that part is because I'm reading a ridiculously high number of series that I want to throw in more stand alones. I'm reading/rereading two Richelle Mead series right now along with other series. I'm up to my eyeballs in series.
Another book by this author is Vicious. I really like the UK covers for this book and Vicious. They are done in the same colors so they kinda look like they are part of the same series. I don't think they are but don't hold me to that because I'm not a hundred percent sure. I'm as sure as I can be without going over to the books in question and checking it out which I don't feel like doing right now. I do like both versions of the cover but I kinda like the UK one more. Is it wrong for me to want to be given a choice on which cover I get? Don't even get me started on the mess of varying book sizes. I just have to remind myself that that trilogy has matching covers despite the bargain UK book being smaller than the US editions. Yes Birthright trilogy or whatever I'm speaking of you. As a chocolate lover how could I not get my hands on a book where chocolate is illegal?
I have no idea when I'm going to read this book but I'm hoping to do it soon. I may even try to do that this month. It all depends on how the book gods are favoring me this month. I admit that they could have used some of that extra space on the cover to make the worlds and the guy leaping from world to world bigger. Maybe I'm weird but I tend to like to use my space. It is a interesting cover and since I'm a fan of magic the title does catch my eye. Sure a great cover can catch my eye but the title can do it too. I spotted Dead Witch Walking while I was in the library and picked it up when I saw the title. So fingers crossed that this gal gets added to the list of many authors I enjoy. I have a pretty good feeling that she will be. I always welcome new authors to my kingdom of reading.
