I really like the idea of being able to read a book that I probably wouldn't under other circumstances. This was a really quick read. The words just flowed in such a way that it was very easy to get through. Some books can be harder to get into than others.
This book takes place in Miami and I really love the cover. I think that's a really great setting for a book. I also think it's great that the main character is African American. There needs to be more diversity in books and it was great to see it in this book.
Sam grows up in an orphanage and he becomes friends with another kid named Jose that lives there. Later when he's an adult and married he runs into his old friend. They go into business together which gets pretty bumpy. This is a story of a man who is trying to make his way in the world. This book was inspired by true events and I found this story very believable. I could see this happening in real life.
