There are times when the cover gets my attention but the title can do the same thing. I do know this is the first book in a trilogy. That seems to be the closest I can get to a stand alone. It's like I'm under a curse where I'm destined to only discover new series not that I hate series but it can be overwhelming.
I have no idea when I'm going to read this book. I will get around to it one day. I don't really like to assign myself books to read. I go with the willy nilly method of book picking. I just grab a book although there have been times when I'm looking at a stack of library books and decide to read the shortest one first. Okay I'm a little odd.
I'm absolutely clueless about what this book is about. I'm thinking this girl is being held captive. Her bird is the only company she has. Maybe her father wants to sell her to the highest bidder or perhaps she's a princess that's being held for ransom. It is nice to see a head that isn't cut off for a change. Cut off heads seems to be a recurring theme for Anita Blake books. If the head isn't cut off chances are good something else is.
I guess she could be living in a world where just stepping outside will kill her. She might be forced to stay indoors until a cure is found. I'll see about reading it sometime this year. There are so many books to read and I think Misty puts more books on my TBR list at Goodreads at night. There are a lot of them. I guess whenever a book catches my notice I run to the library's website to see if they have it or add it to my list at Goodreads. I've only been over there semi regularly for a few months now. I even managed to win a few books which is awesome. Free books are wonderful.
