This cover is really pretty. I love the colors. I was in the mood for an alien book and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed this book even though I thought it was a bit weird that two of the characters are named America and Atlanta. I did appreciate the aliens not having names so weird that I couldn't even begin to pronounce them.
A life lesson learned from this book would be to not go camping. America and her friends should have had a sleepover instead. While out in the woods America gets abducted. Now that is just terrifying. I would wig out if I woke up in a cell in the nude. I don't even like to shower nude let alone being locked up in a cell where the king has plans to dissect me while I'm still alive. Yep that would go on the list of things I'm pretty sure that no one wants to ever have happen to them.
Not long after America's captured Garran finds out about her so he wants to find out more about this human. Garran is horrified by his father's actions. Talk about sucking big time being related to a king that dissects people while they're alive. Garran soon realizes that humans and Enestians aren't all that different. I enjoyed it but I think some readers might be a bit weirded out about the romance because of the differences between America and Garran. Garran is determined to save America but time is running out for her. I will be reading more books by Kalli since I really like her writing style.
