It always amuses me when there's a shirtless and decapitated guy on the cover of a book. I'm not sure why he's leaning to the side. This is the third book in a series. The dog tags and camo clue the reader in on this guy being a marine alone with the name of the series. I could see this cover scaring some people off because it can be embarrassing to be out in public when the book you're reading has this type of cover. Thank the Book Gods for ebooks which allows you to hide that.
This is the first book I've read by Jennifer and I have to say that I did enjoy it. This is a quick read that is ideal for summer. Alyssa seems to have it all. She's rich and has a fiancee but her world gets turned upside down when she overhears Nate talking to her stepfather. She ends up going to Hunt for help since she's in some serious danger. Hunt is a blast from her past. Before her mother's death she was best friend's with his little sister Erin and had a crush on him. I guess Alyssa drooled over this cover and decided that he was the one to help her.
I really liked Hunt and Alyssa. I also liked that this story didn't revolve around sex. It can get pretty boring when the couple is boinking all the time and pretty much nothing else is going on. In this story you have a little romance with a lot of danger. This was a very easy book to get into. It was smooth sailing and I read it in one day. I will certainly be reading more books by Jennifer because I really enjoy her writing. So my super power remains intact. Even though this is part of a series you can read it as a stand alone. This might be weird but I have to admit that Entangled has become a favorite publisher of mine. I've really enjoyed many of the books I've read published by them. I think this book would appeal to fans of Allison Brennan since it is a blending of romance with some mystery thrown in.
