My response to the end was what the hell? I did like this book but the ending just confused me. Apparently there are extra chapters on Watttpad but it sounds like I'd just be more confused. The concept is interesting. You have Eric who happens to be a pop star and a girl that's agoraphobic. The story is told from both of their perspectives but the ending is just so very up in the air. Maybe there's going to be another book since I seem to be the girl that can't find a stand alone if you put me in a room full of books because 99.9% of the time a book is part of a series.
I'm not really crazy about books that go back and forth but I do get why this story was told this way. It wasn't like watching an episode of Pretty Little Liars where you're just all kinds of lost and confused and angry. It starts off with a police interview. It goes back and forth between Eric and Tessa. After a part of the interview two chapters follow with each of their perspectives and it just goes on throughout the book. There's some mysterious thing that happened months before that causes Tessa to be afraid to go outside. I can relate to that a bit because I don't get out much.
Eric is feeling trapped because he doesn't like the way his manager and others treat him. Could Maury be a bigger asshole? Yes I did yell at this book. He just randomly finds Tessa's Twitter account because her account blew up after she wrote some fanfic about Eric. Am I the only one that finds it strange and kinda creepy to be writing fanfic about real people? He decides to start another Twitter account and starts talking to Tessa. I do like how the author worked social media into this relationship since so many of us are on social media every day. I did like Eric and Tessa but the others were all pretty much assholes. Tessa had a boyfriend that was a total douchebag. I totally think he was cheating. Tessa's mom was just awful. I wouldn't want someone like that trying to help me be able to reach a point where I could leave my home and the therapist was just awful.
