"When is he going to wake up?
It was Derek and Renee talking. Walter just lay there. He wasn't sure if he should open his eyes yet and let them know he was awake. He cracked one eye open and saw the ceiling. A spring was poking him in the back so he knew he was on his couch in his home. After Esther died Walter couldn't bear to part with the couch. There were times when he could smell Esther's perfurme and sometimes when he fell asleep in front of the TV he could hear her say, "I love you."
Walter hoped he'd hear something that could help him figure out what was going on. Maybe he'd been sick. He did feel a little lightheaded. He closed his eyes but opened them again when he could smell coffee brewing. No one was in the room with him but he did hear voices that sounded like they were coming from the kitchen. He sat up and stayed there for a while before standing up. He walked over to the kitchen and swung the door open. As the door swung open Renee looked up from the book she was reading and smiled at Walter.
"I knew the smell of coffee would get you up."
Walter smiled back. Esther had always teased him about his love of coffee. She'd tell him that instead of blood he had coffee running through his veins.
"What's going on?"
Renee took a sip of coffee before responding.
"We have to come out of retirement."
Walter just stood there. He hadn't thought about his days as a Power Ranger for years. Once the Tar Beast was banished back to the Dark Dimension Walter and the other Rangers went on with their lives. He never thought he'd be asked to become a Ranger again.
Renee had Walter sit down and told him what was going on. Derek and Sam sat there without saying a word. They just hoped the drug and hynosis worked. They didn't have any other choice.
To Be Cont.
