Litfuse Publicity Group: I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for a review.
If you happen to be a mood reader I suggest reading this in the summer since that cover just screams summer to me even though I'm not really a mood reader although I can be at times. I really like the colors used for the cover of this book. It kind of looks like an airplane flew across the cover and wrote the title and author's name.
This story starts twelve years after Lynette's mother dies. She came home after her first year of college to take care of her dad who seems to be losing time and his memory which is ironic because Lynette wants to remember stuff. She is in over her head and the boy next door comes home. Finally her siblings show up because they have a major decision to make about what to do.
I did find it refreshing to read a book where the family wasn't ridiculously close since it made it more realistic since no family is perfect. You keep reading because you just want to know what happened to make the family scatter the way it did and why the person that was blamed got blamed. Sure some families might be tight but that doesn't mean they all are. It was very easy for me to get into this book and I enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I've always loved reading books so it was inevitable that I'd end up writing about books again. Over the years with the many blogs I have had I would end up talking about books. Thanks to a bit of frustration and a case of the writing blahs I decided to dive in again.
