Just a warning if you are a person that bashes the paperback like the one below you can just go away right now if you're snobby and only read trade paperbacks.
P.S. You could also do it with your phone. I will admit that it can be handy having more than one book at my fingertips just in case I finish a book or run into a stinker that I have to DNF.
2. The best book to read walk with is the paperback. Not the trade paperback since it is awkward. It isn't as bad if the book is short. I just finished reading a four hundred page book but the turning the page with my left thumb isn't really easy to do when I'm out. If I'm just sitting at home reading more often than not I can do the left thumb page turn. I'm going to assume the right page thumb turn will work just as well for those of you who aren't southpaws. Look at the picturees below. Which one would you want to walk around with? I also wear gloves year round. Obviously textable gloves are needed if you read on your phone. What else am I going to do on the damn thing? Okay maybe texting but no to the dreaded phone calls.
P.S. Smaller books aren't as heavy as bigger books. I don't know what people are talking about. The books I've read over the years haven't had tiny print. I could be blanking on some but they seem to have a similar size. Maybe I have better peepers than other people. Trade paperbacks are just awkward the longer the book gets. You can read walk with one but at a certain point it gets heavy and awkward. My hand is more likely to become numb if I'm struggling with a bigger paperback. Also bigger books can be a bit stiff. Paperbacks have the right amount of stiffness. They fit nicely in the hand and you can enjoy bigger books. My hands are messed up so my hand could go numb anyway but it is always easier to do my thumb turn the page thing with a paperback than a bigger one. If you read a trade paperback chances are really good that you'll have to hold the book with both hands or at the very least turn the page with your opposite hand. As a bonus the smaller paperback can easily fit in your purse.
