I've never read this author but I've been trying to get back into reading romances more and I haven't really read many involving cowboys so I thought I'd give this book a try. I'm glad that I did because I found it really easy to get into. Debra has the kind of writing that just sucked me in with no problem. Some books take time while others just aren't for me but this one I really enjoyed. For those who read by season I think this would be a great book to read in the summer although I read whatever I want regardless of the time of the year.
Cassidy has come home to the house she inherited from her aunt. She spent most of her childhood growing up there because she won the crappy parents lottery. Lucky for Cassidy she had her Aunt Roxie to take her in. She has come back to start her life over. I think many of us can relate to wanting to start over again even if we haven't been in the same kind of position Cassidy was in. She plans to turn the house into a B&B and wants to follow in her Roxie's footsteps and has no desire to get involved with another man which just might be a bit hard considering who her neighbors are.
Jarrod lives next door. He has caught Cassidy's attention despite her intention not to get involved with another man. He is a good guy that's taking care of the family farm with the help of his brothers as well as taking care of their grandfather who sadly suffers from Alzheimer's. Jarrod is the oldest of the brothers and he's the only one that's single so of course they are pushing him to find someone to make a life with. This was a really quick read. I started it and found myself reading it even though it was late into the night. I guess that's one perk of insomnia it allows you to finish a really good book. I plan on checking to see what else Debra has written because I really like her writing style.
