Nicola is definitely going on my list of authors to read. That list gets longer and longer but there's no such thing as too many authors to enjoy. I really enjoyed this book. The idea of a girl that lives her life completely inside her house intrigued me. Maddie lives with her mom. She has to stay inside because going outside could kill her because of the disease she has.
If you enjoyed Simon VS The Homo Sapiens Agenda you will likely enjoy this book too. I couldn't help but think of Simon while I was reading this book. Maybe I'm just an oddball. I really like Maddie. I don't think I'd be able to deal with things as well as she does if I was in her place. Also you gotta love a girl that loves to read. A person can never have too many books.
Maddie's life changes drastically when new neighbors move in which include a boy around her age. She gets a taste of living when she becomes friends with him and feelings develop. I will admit that I did suspect the plot twist before it was revealed but that didn't stop me from really enjoying this book because it was such a delight. Maybe the paranoia from all those Investigation Discovery shows are coming in handy when it comes to figuring things out. This is one of those fun reads that you love from start to finish.
