Anyhoo I did like the writing but I am debating on whether or not to read the next one. If it is just a trilogy I probably will. Honestly I think the second book and the first book could have been combined together since nothing really happens for about forty percent of the book. I think most of the first part could just be cut out and I would like to see the perspective of the witches. It continues to focus on the witch hunters. I get Hunter had to recover and there was the birth of a baby but I think something could have happened a lot sooner.
Hunter really annoyed me in this book. I get that he was betrayed and conflicted but if I was in his situation I'd want to find out what the hell was going on with me. Dude should have gone into research mode and channeled Giles while he was recovering. Finally he's told the baby's been born and there's a join me on one side and join me on the other. They both refuse of course. At this point the only thing the witches did was turn out the power which is horrifying since I wouldn't be able to visit Misty. I would miss my visits with her. Finally stuff happens and I'm not sure how I feel about the end of the book. I guess this story just didn't connect with me because I would have liked to have seen dual perspectives and didn't feel like the book was really complete without a perspective from the other side.
