I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with this book because it wasn't quite what I thought it would be. I thought it would be more witchy instead of witchy and more realistic. That annoyed me a little but I did finish reading this book despite the tiny font which will annoy people unless it was just in the ARC.
Things didn't really start going witchy and getting somewhat interesting until nearly the end of the book. I don't think I'll continue on with the series or maybe I will at some later point but at this time I'm just not meshing with the story since I seem to be in the wrong frame of mind. This is the first book in a series which could explain why it dragged a bit but it wasn't until a bit over 90 or maybe 92% in that things happened.
It could have worked as just a regular contemporary romance. I'll admit that it does have an interesting twist on instalove. It isn't a bad book. I'm sure if I went in without thinking about how it should be I would have enjoyed it more. I was just kind of expecting more fantasy than reality when it comes to witchcraft. I did like the characters and I love Thea's relationship with her brother's dog. It could have been fleshed out a bit more. Even though I was a bit disappointed I applaud Joanne for her debut novel since that's always an awesome accomplishment.
