I'm reasonably sure that the crazy making part of reading this book isn't going to affect any readers out there that get this book. In my copy if I forgot to click on bookmark which happened more than once I'd have to go find where I left off which was annoying but I kept reading. This cover is very plain although I have to say I love the pink. Okay I admit it I like the color pink. I'm not embarrassed.
Anyhoo what really got my attention was the name Joss Whedon when I was reading a blurb by this book. It said for fans of and gave a list of names. Once I saw Joss's name I knew I had to read this book. This book does come with three story stories which I admit that I didn't read. I might read them but right now I'm up in the air about that.
As you can guess from the title this is a weird retelling of The Little Mermaid with a horror twist to it. I thought it was a strange book and honestly I'm not sure if I liked this book or not. I'm not sure if that makes sense. I was able to keep reading since I did finish it. It isn't a very long book. I'm thinking that many of those that love to read might want to read shorter books during the summer. I think this is about a hundred or so pages but the text is small so it is probably closer to two hundred pages which is still a pretty short book. It might make you think twice before going into the water.
Mark is house sitting for some friends. His girlfriend Brenna comes over. To make things even more awkward a one night stand of his from five years ago shows up. Something happens and someone else shows up. Mark is really an idiot. I'm not sure why he'd be friendly with some chick he was with one night so long ago while his girlfriend was there. I guess the more I think about it the more I'm starting to realize that I just didn't really like this book. I'm fine with strange but it just didn't really make a lot of sense to me.
