I thought this would be a great book to read during the Halloween season but sadly it didn't turn out that way. I guess I didn't mesh with the writing style. It was like I was trying to wash my hands with a running faucet that never got them wet. I don't know if that even makes sense. It was just easy to lose track of what was going on.
Kira lives with his uncle. Kira's a Deadbringer which means he's able to raise the dead kinda like Anita Blake in the earlier books before she started screwing every supernatural creature under the moon. Anyhoo a man wants Kira to raise his recently murdered mother so they can find out who killed her so they head off to the cemetery.
There aren't many people with Kira's skill set because there's a group out there that pretty much wiped out every person that is able to do this. They go to the cemetery and Kira does his thing and raises the woman. She looks around and screams when she sees her son. The chapter ends there and in the next one all hell is breaking loose but I felt like I was missing something. I didn't read much more since I decided this book just wasn't for me. I think I might be allergic to it. Oddly it sort of has the same concept as another book I recently read but I have to admit that I preferred that one even though I wasn't all that crazy about it. I stopped reading about thirteen percent in since I didn't really care about what happened and probably forgot most of whatever I absorbed while reading it.
