I totally understand the urge to throw this book across the room. I had that urge but resisted because I was reading an ebook and didn't want to hurt my Fire which was one awesome gift. This world is just horrible to people who are overweight. It's like they aren't human and they are fined for being fat although you can be twenty pounds over without a fine as long as you don't go over it. They briefly mention smoking but the focus is on fat people in this weird quest to rid the world of fat people because only thin people are healthy.
Even though I was annoyed I kept reading because this book has a Dollhouse feel to it with people being put into other bodies to perform a task but in this world it is focused on weight loss. Morgan decides to become a reducer which means she gets paid to be in another person's body and loses weight for them. Okay I confess that kinda sounds cool but pretty early on you start wondering if this is a case of things appearing to be too good to be true. At first I didn't really like Morgan because of the way she was although I get it because of the way this world is. Well major stuff goes down and I will admit that I did end up enjoying this book while being angry at it at the same time if that makes any sense. I am kind of annoyed with the way this book ended. Is there another book? It just kind of ended abruptly. For mood readers I would suggest this as an October read because you have bodies in suspended animation and people jumping into bodies with a brain map scan. I have to wonder what a scan of my brain would look like. I probably don't want to know.
