I found this book at the library which is where I get 99.9% of my books. If only I had a book fairy to keep me supplied with books. I picked it up and started reading it. Now I'll admit that I have a weird relationship with library books. I'm not sure if this is exclusive to me or not. I don't think there are a lot of read walkers out there. A lot of people are really impressed by my ability to read while I'm walking.
When I read a library book I have to wash my hands after. I guess I get paranoid about people that handled the book before me. One book I have seems to have had an encounter with a dog or a possibly a baby. I'm the same way with money since I'll wash my hands as soon as possible after I handle money. Sadly I don't handle money all that much since I'm one broke ass girl. Who is on the twenty? Is there a hundred dollar bill? No clue.
I read about twenty pages but I had problems with this book. I'm talking about the actual book and not the contents of the book. The book was really stiff. As I'm sure fellow book readers know paperbacks come in a variety of sizes. They also come in varying degrees of softness as well. I've mastered the technique of holding a book in my left hand and being able to for the most part being able to use my thumb to turn the page. Sometimes I'll have to step in with my right hand if it is windy out or the pages are stuck together. The smaller paperbacks are usually easier to read walk with. The trade paperbacks can be a little tricky since the pages tend to stick more at least for me they do.
I'm starting to think I have carpel tunnel from too much typing and too much reading. My hand went numb which isn't new. I power through and usually take the book by the other hand while I shake my hand all about in an attempt to make my hand feel like a hand again whenever that happens. I'm sure I make quite the sight if anyone catches me when I'm out for a read walk. I wasn't able to turn the page with my thumb at all and the book was just stiff. It wasn't the least bit soft or floppy despite it being a paperback so I'm left wondering if I'll bother read it at least until I can get a different version of the book. Is it just me or are other people odd like this when it comes to reading?
