This is a book that you really don't want to stick in a bookshelf because it is so pretty. Of course I'm a series slut so I ended up checking out the second book from the library after watching a booktube video without realizing that it was a trilogy. I love that cover too along with the third book. Anyhoo I had to get the first book since I prefer to read books in order. I'm just weird that way.
I was faced with a choice. I could check out the audio book and get it right away or I could spend money I don't have on a trip to the far away library. I picked the audio book which came in handy since that's one of the things to do for a book challenge thingie I'm doing. I listened to the first couple of chapters and really enjoyed it. I do think I've discovered that I'm not a audio book kind of person. I spaced out and lost track of where I left off. The audio book didn't come with a table of contents. I didn't even know how long it would take me to listen to it. I ended up restarting it with me reading it. Now the one doing the reading was good but it just isn't for me.
This is an interesting take on Alice In Wonderland. It picks up years later with the descendants of Alice Liddell. Alyssa's mom is in the loony bin and she finds out that the family is cursed. She decides to travel to Wonderland so she can break the curse. I think I'd be a bit creeped out if I could hear plants and bugs talking. On the other hand maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing since I could tell the bugs to get the hell away from me. I am eager to continue the story with the next books in the series which includes an ebook. I'm kinda annoyed by that. Always offer books in all formats please. I might see about treating myself to these books for my birthday. Until next time read on my friends read on.
