As you can probably guess from the picture on the left this is sorta like black comedy/parody of the show The Bachelorette except if you don't get that rose you die hence the title. There's another book coming out and I really hope that this is just a two book series or as the cool people call it a duology. Yes I did enjoy it and maybe I'm weird but after reading a Bentley Little book there's a whole new level of weird in your life so this book isn't all that weird after all and I don't watch the actual shows that this book is kinda making fun of. I'm really annoyed when it makes Castle start late. Thank the TV Gods for On Demand. This book did leave me wanting answers considering how it ended but personally I think it could have been wrapped up in just this book alone with another fifty or so pages but I'm not against a second book as long as that is how far it goes because I don't feel it needs to turn into a trilogy or beyond. It does have a couple of twists that might make your mouth hang open. I didn't expect one and started suspecting the other right before it was revealed. When did they change the meaning of the word trilogy? Guess I really do live under a rock. I'm pretty sure it meant three books at one point but some idiot decided to change Tinkerbell to Tinker Bell.
This book seems to take place in a future reality or a reality like ours but more technologically advanced where people can have chips in there heads. Talk about creepy having someone watching you. I get paranoid enough after watching shows on Investigation Discover so I don't need more paranoia in my life thank you very much. Ford goes on a game show with other contestants and he's shocked when he finds out that the ones that don't get the rose at the end of the evening are dying. Sounds crazy right? Things just seem off from the start because the woman Rose is a little strange and Ford is out of the loop. So if you don't mind strange and are curious to find out who survives until the end you really should check out this book. I made my way through it pretty quick considering I'm not the fastest of readers and it is probably over five hundred pages long because there's a short story at the end which is where the numbers actually stop. I think they stopped at 471. The short story at the end was weird but I get the impression that this author likes the weird. Hell I've written plenty of weird things myself and a lot of things involving hair for some reason that I can't explain.
