I knocked off a half star for the romance. Now I'm not saying I don't like the couple but I was a bit disappointed that they didn't just remain friends. It kind of annoys me that so many feel the need to pair everyone up not that I was against Danny meeting a girl.
Things get pretty dark in this book. It kind of goes the way of Hitler with that majorly fucked up way of thinking that's absolutely terrifying and poor Danny is in the thick of things. She's got a lot on her plate. She's a new superhero and she's battling her parents. Just when you think things can't get any worse they do.
I really enjoyed this book because more characters were added to the little gang of superheroes including a genderqueer character. Danny's got quite a battle to fight in this book but she's got some pretty great backup and I can't stress how much I love Doc Impossible. Can I have one of her? I think Danny is probably the one fictional character that I've related to the most. I just get that whole beating up on yourself thing that happens as a result of toxic people in your life.
I hate Graywytch. I was hoping there'd be a showdown between her and Danny and boy was there. There was a lot going on in this book and I read it pretty fast. Three days is really good for me because my superpower is definitely not speed reading. I wold love to have a novella at least about Doc Impossible because I just love her so much. I'm not sure if there's going to be another book in this series but I think it tied up nicely while leaving room for more to happen.
